Green Zone movie (2010) tells of an investigation conducted by the U.S. Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller (Matt Damon) in an effort to uncover the trigger of the war in Iraq.
Background Iraq's place in this film is one of director Paul Greengrass dissatisfaction with the Bush administration to invade Iraq.
Green Zone script was written by Brian Helgeland and inspired the book The Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq's Green Zone by Rajiv Chandrasekaran, The Washington Post journalist. This book received several awards and included one non-fiction book of the year 2007 version of The New York Times. In his book, Chandrasekaran detailing the events since the end of this phase until the return of power to an Iraqi invasion and the insurgency that grew in this country.
Green Zone or International Zone, also sometimes called Buble, is a name for the international zone in downtown Baghdad. After the U.S. invasion to end Saddam Hussein's government in 2003, this area is a zone in the area of Baghdad's most secure than called Red Zone. Green Zone is like a fortress of protection and shelter to U.S. troops and coalition soldiers, journalists, diplomats, government officials, and parties who have interests in Iraq. Inside the Green Zone there are several castles owned by Saddam Hussein and his family, including the largest palace of the Republican Palace. Life in the Green Zone complex itself is almost like in a war zone. There are shopping malls, luxury swimming pools, cafes, and places of clubbing. Quite in contrast to the situation in the Red Zone is scary.
Green Zone is surrounded by a coil of razor wire and high resistant coated concrete blast walls. Watching over them with M1 Abrams tanks, Bradley Fighting Vehicles and M1117 Armored Security Vehicle. South and east sides of this area is protected by the Tigris River. Entrance only through Arbataash Tamuz Bridge (also known as the July 14 Bridge) and through examination covered the heavily guarded. Green Zone often have rain of mortar attacks, rockets, or suicide bombing, because it is a symbol of American occupation of Iraq. On January 1, 2009, the Green Zone is fully transferred back to the Iraqi government.
The film highlights the issue of ownership of the Green Zone WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) aka weapons of mass destruction by Iraq. George W. Bush invaded Iraq in 2003 with the following reason: Our mission is clear, to disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction, to end Saddam Hussein's support for terrorism, and to liberate the Iraqi people. But what if it fails the horrendous hemisphere WMD found in Iraq by U.S. soldiers assigned to track him down? Paul Greengrass in packaging an action movie genre thriller complete with political intrigue labeled duration of 115 minutes rated R (Restricted, under 17 requires parent or adult guardian above). Michael Moore, director of Fahrenheit 9 / 11 even refers to this film: the most honest about the Iraq War movies made by Hollywood. However, some people call this anti-America movies.
Tensions existed since the beginning to the end of the movie and the plot moves quickly, sometimes not even leave a gap of time to digest the storyline. Attendance is taken overwhelmed by scenes of typical Greengrass interesting action, including its flagship attitude of handheld camera (with a hand technique using a camera without a tripod), which has been used in the Bourne trilogy. Green Zone that was quite interesting, although not as memorable or his Bourne trilogy powerful Steven Spielberg Saving Private Ryan.
